Political Science

P0SITION:   Full time (10 month), tenure-track position.

 RANK:   Assistant Professor.  

ACCOUNTABILITY:  Reports to the Chair of the Basic & Applied Social Sciences (BASS) Division.

 OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Full time, tenure-track position with teaching assignments, student advising and faculty governance service.

 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

bulletTeach undergraduate level courses in Political Science, and one Geography course.
bulletAdvises students through realistic and thorough guidance, assistance and support.
bulletParticipates in evaluation and development of the program curriculum.
bulletParticipates in curricular and program assessment.
bulletDemonstrates continuing professional and educational growth and maintains expertise in areas of responsibility.
bulletContributes to the College and community through participation in College functions and community activities.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

bulletA PhD in political science preferred, ABD acceptable, Masters required.
bulletEvidence of teaching excellence at the undergraduate level strongly preferred.
bulletThe candidate should have a background in the areas of International Relations and Comparative Politics.
