How can I get a statement of
attendance/verification of enrollment?
Answer:
Students needing verification or confirmation of
their enrollment status with Keuka College for health insurances, student
loan deferment or credit purposes may request that a verification letter
be sent from the Registrar’s Office.
Please note that enrollment can only be verified for
the actual term in which a student is registered. Verification of future
enrollment or class registration cannot be issued until actual
registration occurs.
If you need a verification letter, please click on
the link below and print the form. You may also stop by the Registrar's
Office (Hegeman 221) during office hours to obtain one.
The verification will provide the dates of the
semester being verified, registration status (enrolled or pre-registered),
full-time/part-time status, anticipated major and expected date of
graduation.

How can I change my address?
Answer:
Complete a change of address form available on the web or at the
Registrar's Office. Newly admitted students should contact the Admissions
Office.

How can I change my name?
Answer:
Complete a change of name form available on the web or at the
Registrar's Office. All change of name forms must be accompanied with
legal documentation (marriage certificate, divorce decree, legal order,
etc.) when submitted to the Registrar's Office.

Why do I need a
change of registration form signed by the
instructor when I am just changing sections of a class?
Answer:
Once the semester begins, students
must request permission from the course instructor to be added into a
course, even if it is only a change of course section. Once permission is
given, the instructor will sign a change of registration form to indicate permission.

How can I get a copy of my
transcript?
Answer:
All transcripts must be requested by
the student, either in person, by completing the transcript release form
or by submitting a written request by mail or fax. For further information

| I believe that a grade I
received is inaccurate. Who do I contact? Answer:
If you believe that a grading error has occurred, you should contact
the instructor of the course. If the instructor wishes to change the
grade, he/she must submit a change of grade form to the Registrar's
Office. Once the grade has been changed, the Registrar's Office will
notify the student.

When are grades mailed?
Answer:
Grades are due approximately one week
after the end of the semester. Grades are usually processed and mailed
within 10 working days of the end of the term to the student’s permanent
address on file.

Can I receive my grades by
telephone?
Answer:
Because we are unable to verify the
identity of any caller beyond a reasonable doubt, grades are not released
by telephone to protect the student’s right to privacy.

How do I find out if classes are cancelled
due to weather? Answer:
Should the College close due to weather, information will be announced
on the following stations:

What is the Graduation Application/Diploma order
form?
Answer:
This is the official application for graduation. When this form is
submitted, a preliminary degree audit of your transcript is completed. |
| Do I have to apply?
Answer:
Yes, every student must complete the graduation application.
Graduation is NOT automatic.

| When should I complete my
application for graduation? Answer:
You should complete your application during the month of March of your
junior year.
|

What is a degree audit?
Answer:
A degree
audit is a series of administrative procedures that determine if a student
has met all degree requirements. The official audit is conducted by the
Registrar’s Office and supersedes all other indications that the student
has completed degree requirements. It is each student’s responsibility to
ensure that all requirements will be met by graduation.

What if I took courses at another college and they don’t
appear on my Keuka College transcript?
Answer:
Make sure that you have requested an official transcript from the college
at which you completed the course. If you have not requested an official
transcript, do so at once. The transcript must be sent directly from the
college. Copies issued to students are not accepted.

What if I have a grade of incomplete?
Answer:
We do not assume successful completion of a course when the grade is
incomplete. The requirement is incomplete until the final grade is
submitted.

How many credits do I need to graduate?
Answer:
All Keuka College graduates must complete
a minimum of 120 credits prior to graduation. Some majors, however, will
require more.
|

What grade point average (gpa) must I have to graduate?
Answer:
Students are required to have both a
cumulative gpa and a major gpa of 2.000 to graduate. Some major require a
higher gpa. Please refer to the Keuka College Record.

How many Field Periods are required for graduation?
Answer:
Students, who entered Keuka College as
freshmen, are required to successfully complete four Field Periods.
Transfer students should refer to the evaluation of transfer credit that
was prepared for them when they entered Keuka College.

What if I have two majors, do I receive two diplomas?
Answer:
If the majors are in the same degree program (both are BA), you
will receive one diploma. If each major is awarded a different degree
(BA and BS) with at least 30 additional credits beyond the first degree,
then you may be eligible to receive a diploma for each degree awarded.
Students who believe they may be eligible should contact the Associate
Dean for Academic Programs.

Do I have to have a concentration to graduate?
Answer:
If you are pursuing a major in biology,
unified childhood/special education, unified early childhood/special
education, visual/verbal arts, or theatre/drama you are required to have a
concentration. Other majors (management, psychology, and sociology) have
optional concentrations. Please refer to the Keuka College Record
for a listing of the concentrations offered under these majors.

Do I have to have a minor to graduate?
Answer:
No, completion of a minor is optional. If
you believe that you have completed the requirements for a minor, please
indicate your minor on your graduation application. Please refer to the
Keuka College Record for a listing of the minors offered by Keuka
College.

I am completing my graduation requirements in December. When do I get my
diploma?
Answer:
If you complete your degree requirements
in December, your diploma will be mailed in mid-January to the address on
file in the Registrar’s Office. Note: you must complete a
financial aid exit interview and must have satisfied your financial
obligations with the College.

When will I begin receiving Commencement information?
Answer:
Commencement information will start
appearing at the end of February. We will d-box information and/or e-mail
information to you.

When will I receive my diploma?
Answer:
Commencement and graduation should not be
confused. Commencement is the ceremony for candidates for graduation.
Graduation is the point at which it is determined that all degree
requirements have been completed and the degree is conferred. Diplomas
are issued to students who have completed all degree requirements, who
have completed the financial aid exit interview process and who have
satisfied all financial obligations with the College. Students who have
satisfied these three requirements may pick up their diplomas after
commencement ceremony.

What if I don’t attend commencement, how will I receive my diploma?
Answer:
Diplomas that have been cleared for
release and have not been picked up after the Commencement ceremony will
be mailed first class to the student’s permanent residence that is on file
in the Registrar’s Office. They are normally mailed out one week after
the ceremony.

Does my major show on my diploma?
Answer:
No, only the degree awarded and any Latin
honors earned. If you need to show proof of graduation including your
major you would request an official transcript.

How do I earn a degree with distinction?
Answer:
Eligibility of an award of Degree with
Distinction (Latin honors) is based on the earned cumulative grade point
average (gpa) as follows:
3.90 and
above Summa Cum Laude
3.70 – 3.89 Magna Cum Laude
3.50 – 3.69 Cum Laude
Transfer students who have achieved a Keuka College
grade point average of 3.50 or higher will be considered for a Degree with
Distinction if the student has taken a minimum of 45 semester credits at
Keuka College. The student’s grade point average will be recalculated to
include all college-level work completed. The new grade point average
must be above a 3.50. The Student may not obtain a higher honor that
his/her Keuka College gpa indicates.

What if I am not done with my requirements in May, can I
participate in the Commencement ceremony?
Answer:
Participation in the ceremony is limited
to those who have completed all quality point-bearing degree requirements
and for those who are within six credit hours of meeting graduation
requirements. Students who are within six credits must file a petition of
participation with the Registrar's Office. All outstanding requirements
must be satisfied before July 31 of the graduating year. Failure to meet
this deadline will result in the delay of your official graduation from
Keuka College and the receipt of your diploma.

What if I am taking a course at another college to complete my
requirements?
Answer:
When the official transcript is received,
your degree will be posted and the diploma mailed. Transcripts must be
received no later than July 31 for the May graduation posting. The course
and degree will be posted and your diploma will be mailed to your home
address. Failure to meet this deadline will result in the delay of your
official graduation from Keuka College and the receipt of your diploma.

What if I am completing a Field Period to complete my requirements?
Answer:
You should make arrangements with your
Field Period evaluator for the completion of your Field Period
requirements. The grade for your Field Period must be submitted to the
Registrar's Office by July 31. The grade and degree will be posted and
your diploma will be mailed. Failure to meet this deadline will result in
the delay of your official graduation from Keuka College and the receipt
of your diploma. |
