2009 Baccalaureate Message

Dear Graduates:

Commencement weekend is just around the corner. We would like to inform you about a very significant part of graduation – the baccalaureate service – so that you, your family, and friends will make plans to attend.

Baccalaureate will be held Sunday, May 24 at 9:30 a.m. in Norton Chapel. Commencement starts at 12:30 p.m.

Baccalaureate is a religious service for people of all faiths or no faith at all. It is a service that allows each graduate to consider the changes that have occurred in his or her life while at Keuka, and to ponder the future. This is done in a spirit of thankfulness for all of God’s blessings and a spirit of hope as we ask for God’s guidance and protection. People of all faiths are invited to join in readings, prayers, and songs.

We hope that each graduate, regardless of religious persuasion, will join the campus community in this meaningful celebration.

We hope and pray that your last days at Keuka will be special ones—filled with blessings and thanksgivings. We look forward to seeing you, your family and friends at the interfaith baccalaureate services on Commencement day.

Sincerely,

Jim Blackburn, Dean of Students
