An overview of linguistic principles and human languages with an in-depth exploration of language acquisition among deaf people including first-language acquisition of signed languages, second-language acquisition of written/spoken languages, delayed exposure to language and semilingualism. This course includes the anaysis of ASL discourse for narrativesa and conversations.
