Credit Hours: 2
Prerequisite: 3.0 EDU G.P.A., 2.75 overall G.P.A. (required enrollment one semester before student teaching). Issues addressed include integration of knowledge for effective classroom instruction; techniques for classroom management; application of teaching methodologies; individualization of instruction for special needs students; working with parents and the community; the effect of one's own cultural biases and differences that affect one's teaching; and the practice of education in a professional, non-discriminatory and ethical manner. The child abuse training workshop and violence prevention workshop are part of this course. (Offered every semester.)(2)
