How do I qualify for ASAP?

To be admitted to the ASAP undergraduate program, you should have at least 60 semester hours of transferable college credit. Due to the interactive classroom environment, a student must be at least 25-years-old (except nursing), and have at least 2-3 years of prior work experience. Adult students who do not meet these criteria may be accepted on a conditional basis. Please contact us to discuss your admission options, or view our admissions page for further details.

How do I learn more about ASAP?

Information sessions are conducted on a regular basis. Please view our information session schedule for convenient dates and locations near you. How is it possible to earn my undergraduate degree on an accelerated basis?

Each ASAP program is a sequence of courses scheduled over 3-6 semesters that result in 34-70 semester hours of credit. A total of 120 semester hours is required to earn your undergraduate degree at Keuka College. Depending upon your individual circumstances, you may require additional credits beyond the ASAP program requirements. Once you are enrolled as a student, an ASAP representative will be available to assist you in developing an appropriate action plan toward successful completion of the required additional credits.

What if I do not have enough transferable college credit to be accepted to ASAP?

Upon application to the program, an ASAP representative will complete a detailed preliminary evaluation of transfer credits. If you do not have enough credit to enter the program, we can offer guidance toward earning the additional credits required prior to acceptance.

How will a degree in organizational management benefit me? What can I do with this degree?

An organizational management degree will provide graduates with skill sets in effective oral and written communication, decision-making/problem-solving skills, people skills, and time management. This degree is appropriate for any entry- or mid-level managerial position in organizations, especially public sector and non-profit organizations.

How will a degree in criminal justice systems benefit me? What can I do with this degree?

A Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice systems prepares students for advancement in the ranks of law enforcement professions or for a higher-level entry position in a myriad of professional agencies. Persons holding a bachelor’s degree are often found in positions of responsibility and leadership within the criminal justice community and related professions.

How will a degree in nursing benefit me? What can I do with this degree?

A Bachelor of Science in nursing provides theory for practicing nurses with skills in such areas as leadership/management, genetics, community health/nursing in the community, business, research, and epidemiology, to name a few.

Many new job opportunities are being developed in health care systems for nurses with a bachelor's degree. Nurses with a B.S. are often instrumental in planning and organizational management. They establish standards of performance, and playing a key role in the writing of proposals for system projects.

Can I receive credit for prior learning?

Keuka College recognizes that not all learning takes place in the classroom. Once you are enrolled as an ASAP student, you have the opportunity to earn up to a maximum of 18 credits in any combination of our recognized methods for evaluating credit for prior learning. These include: credit by examination (CLEP, DANTES, etc.), credit for military experience (ACE recommendation), or credit by evaluation through a combination of portfolio development and life learning papers. Additionally, some types of training may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

What is the action research project and how will it benefit me?

The action research project provides students with a model to systematically approach a complex problem, identify the causes and issues surrounding that problem, design a solution or intervention, and measure the results (or effectiveness of the intervention). This is a very powerful tool to offer employers in today's workplace.

Where are your students employed?

Our students represent a cross section of both the private and public sectors. They are employed in the banking industry, health care professions, engineering, manufacturing, social services, and law enforcement. We would like you to meet our students so that you can learn about their backgrounds and experience in our program. Student representatives attend the information sessions at our ASAP locations and are available to answer your questions.

What is a cohort?

Upon entering the program, students form a cohort. A cohort is a group of people with some factor in common, such as a membership in a class or age group. In ASAP, a cohort is a class made up of 6-18 students who progress through the program sequence as a group. Students build a strong support network and often cite this as one of the most positive factors of success in the program.

When do classes start and what are the class hours?

ASAP classes are scheduled to begin three times a year: January, May and September. A class or cohort of students (up to 18) remains together throughout the entire program. Are there graduate programs available through ASAP?

ASAP is continually trying to develop new and interesting programs for adult students. Currently, we offer Master of Science programs in management and criminal justice administration degree programs. For more information regarding the M.S. programs, please contact the Center for Professional Studies and International Programs to request a graduate admissions packet.

Is Keuka College accredited?

Keuka College is accredited by the Middles States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. The College is also chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York. Keuka is one of the 17 colleges affiliated with American Baptist Churches USA.

Will I qualify for graduate school upon completion of this program?

The organizational management and criminal justice systems programs are accredited B.S. degrees. With the appropriate grade point average and the completion of any entrance exam requirement, admission to graduate school should not be an issue.

Do I qualify for financial aid? What options do I have for paying for the program?

Students in ASAP are generally considered full time and may be eligible for state and federal grants or loans. Completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to determine eligibility. Keuka College accepts employer tuition reimbursement payments as well. Check with your employer to see if they offer educational assistance.
