Sally Daggett Honored for Service to
National Student Employment Association

Sally Daggett, associate director of the Center for Experiential Learning, received the John R. Griffin Service Award at the National Student Employment Association’s (NSEA) annual conference Oct. 23-26 in Kansas City, Mo.

The National Student Employment Association is an organization of several hundred professionals involved with programs for college student employment.

“I am finishing my two-year term for the National Association of Student Employment Administrators Board of Directors and have taken that responsibility, as I do all my other work responsibilities, as important as anything else I do” said Daggett.

“My regional organization, Northeast Association of Student Employment Administrators (NEASEA), nominated me for the Board. This was my chance to make a difference, meet new professionals, and learn new things.”

The John R. Griffin Service Award is presented for distinguished service to NSEA. It is awarded to a member of two or more years who has provided outstanding contributions to conferences and programs, special projects or committee assignments, or in leadership positions. The award was established to honor John R. Griffin, who founded the Midwest Association of Student Employment Administrators (MASEA), the organization that gave roots to the other regional associations and the NSEA.

“To receive this award at a national level was very exciting but also very humbling,” said Daggett. “It has been an honor and privilege to serve on the

Board. I have learned a lot but have also had the opportunity to allow others to learn more about Keuka College and experiential learning.”

Daggett is the recipient of three NEASEA awards: the Robert Gallione Jr. District Representative of the Year Award in 1996 and 1997 and the Ann McCormick Outstanding Achievement Award in 2003.

“Sally has been a leader in the student employment program, regionally and nationally," said Anne Marie Guthrie, assistant dean in the Center for Experiential Learning. "This latest recognition shows her outstanding service to the organization, our student employment program and Keuka College. It also confirms our leadership on the national level for student employment programs across the country.”
