Geneva Resident Kaitlyn Dombrowski Selected Keuka College Experiential Learner of the Month

KEUKA PARK, N.Y.—Kaitlyn Dombrowski, a resident of Geneva and a senior at Geneva High School, received Keuka College’s Experiential Learner of the Month Award for January.

Keuka, the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning, established the program to honor high school students whose commitment to experiential, hands-on learning has made a difference in their communities.

Dombrowski will receive a partial academic fellowship to Keuka and qualify for the Experiential Learner of the Year Award, which carries a full academic fellowship to the College.

Timothy McSweeney, a school counselor at Geneva, nominated Dombrowski for the award.

“Kaitlyn is considerate, caring, conscientious, and down to earth,” said McSweeney.

He said that she “has received glowing reports from her Student Teacher Assistant Program placement at the elementary school. She would make an excellent teacher.”

Dombrowski is a member of the Geneva High School Student Council and chaired two blood drives through the high school and American Red Cross. She is also a member of the Multicultural Club.

Dombrowski has donated her time and talents to the Ontario County ARC, Big Brother/Big Sister Program, and Geneva General Hospital Nursing Home. She is also a leader in the Roman Catholic Community Youth Group.

The Experiential Learner of the Month Award-winner is featured on television stations throughout central, western, and northern New York state, as well as the Southern Tier.

The participating stations include WTVH, Channel 5, Syracuse (CBS); WHAM, Channel 13, Rochester (ABC); WKBW, Channel 7, Buffalo (ABC); WWNY, Channel 7, Watertown (CBS); and WBNG, Channel 12, Binghamton (CBS).

Keuka College is the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning.
