A Keuka Tradition: May Day Weekend

Ted FishmanMay Day Weekend is a rite of spring on the Keuka College campus.

This year, the festivities began with the 21st Annual Carl and Fanny Fribolin Lecture. Ted Fishman, a China expert and author of the best-selling book China, Inc: How the Rise of the Next Superpower Challenges America and the World, delivered a provocative talk Friday, May 1 in Norton Chapel.

The following afternoon  featured Honors Convocation. Students making the Dean's List for the spring and fall 2008 semesters were honored along with those entering honor societies and receiving special awards. The Sigma Lambda Sigma Classes of 2009 and 2010 were also honored.

The leadership and Moving Up Ceremony was held Saturday evening. Students exhibiting leadership qualities were honored and classes took part in the traditional "moving up" part of the event.
