Why We're No. 1

Keuka College is the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning.

Sure, that’s the College’s branding statement but it’s more than a marketing strategy. It happens to be a fact.

George Dehne & Associates, one of the leading marketing consulting, research, strategic planning and services firms in the country, had this to say about Keuka College:

Among the 350 colleges and universities with which we have worked, Keuka, in our view, is truly the leader in opportunities for hands-on experiential learning.

According to the National Association for Colleges and Employers (NACE) Journal,
experiential education programs are a curricular requirement at just 3.5 percent of colleges and universities and 61 percent of those report that many students don’t take advantage of the opportunity.

That’s not the case at Keuka College, where every student is required to complete a Field Period—an internship where they take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to the “real world”—every year.

And how does Field Period affect life after Keuka? According to the Recent Graduate Survey:

Field Period isn’t the only reason why Keuka College is the national leader in experiential education. Eighty percent of the courses offered at Keuka have specific language in the course goals or description that indicated students would be involved in experiential learning opportunities. Seventy-five percent of Keuka’s undergraduate majors require at least one, major-specific Field Period and many require two.

All of which leads to this:

In the past four years, 98 percent of the respondents to the Recent Graduate Survey are working and/or attending graduate school.

We rest our case.
