At Keuka College, student employment is more than dollars and cents.

While the College recognizes how vital it is for students to earn a paycheck while enrolled at Keuka, it is also cognizant of the important role student employment plays in preparing students for life after graduation.

In fact, the emphasis Keuka places on student employment is one of the reasons why it is the national leader in experiential, hands-on learning.

Like Field Period, the student employment program gives students the opportunity to take what they learn in the classroom and apply it to the “real world.” Students have the opportunity to apply for campus jobs that jell with their academic interests. Student employment supervisors take their roles seriously and strive to integrate learning and work.

And even if a campus job doesn’t mesh with the student’s major field of study, he or she reaps many benefits from the experience.

In securing jobs on campus, students hone their resume writing and interviewing skills, which will help them land a job or earn acceptance to graduate school. As student employees, they develop their interpersonal, time management, and a variety of other skills that will be key to carving successful careers in their chosen fields.
