How to Apply for a Work-Study Job
Orientation
All new students attend a Student Employment Orientation (during Transition Week) which will address issues such as customer service, attendance, work assignments, confidentiality, and general information about the Student Employment Program. By participating in this orientation, the student can make a smoother transition into her or his work study job.
Job Search
Each spring semester, students apply for work-study (student employment) jobs for the following academic year by submitting a resume and participating in an interview. Workshops or individual appointments are offered to students who need help writing a resume or need to brush up on interviewing skills. This is one more opportunity for the student to gain valuable job search experience before graduation.
Work Experience
The student will have the same opportunities and experiences as the College staff through training and bi-annual written performance appraisals.
Evaluation
Performance appraisals will be done with the student's supervisor. The student is also encouraged to perform her or his own reflection and self-assessment.
