Storm Route Caz in Season Finale
Seniors Donohue and Pecori Combine for 11 Goals
Keuka's men's lacrosse team finished the 2008 campaign in style with a
huge 19-6 win over Cazenovia College in parents/senior day at Keuka.
The Storm end the year with an 8-5 record
while
Cazenovia finishes at 2-9.
The Storm opened the game by scoring four straight goals before Cazenovia
was able to answer with its first goal just 13 seconds before the end of
the quarter. Keuka then scored the game's next ten goals including a
7-0 shutout in the second quarter. Cazenovia scored five times in
the third quarter to just four for the Storm. Keuka then blanked the
Wildcats 4-0 in the final quarter.
Keuka thoroughly dominated every offensive category including shot
attempts (53-23). Keuka also won 17-of-26 face-offs led by junior
Chris Sullivan (East Northport, N.Y./Northport) who won 9-of-13.
On senior day, it was Keuka's two sensational scoring seniors who took
charge. Midfielder Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South
Jefferson) scored six goals and dished off two
assists to finish the season with 59 points in just 13 games.
Pecori ends his career with 141 total points (3rd all-time at Keuka),
78 goals (6th all-time), and 63 assists (2nd all-time).
Pecori's 4-year teammate Chris Donohue (Jordan, N.Y./Jordan
Elbridge) added five goals and an assist to finish the year with 28
points. Donohue finished his career with 110 total points
(8th all-time) and 82 goals (5th all-time).
Sullivan added three goals and two assists while junior Greg
Marsh (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) netted two goals. Juniors
Jared Furnia (Skaneateles, N.Y./Cayuga) and TJ Radka (Waterloo,
N.Y./Cayuga) each added a goal and an assist.
Cazenovia's goalie Chris Harrington recorded 15 saves while
allowing 19 goals as Keuka's Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South
Jefferson) ended with six saves while allowing just one goal.
Green ends the season with 130 saves and finishes his career with 379
saves (2nd all-time).

Storm Secure Winning Season
Thump Oswego 15-8
The Keuka College men's lacrosse team guaranteed itself a winning season
after defeating the Lakers of Oswego State by a score of 15-8 on Sunday.
The win moves Keuka to 7-5 overall with just one game remaining while
Oswego falls to 3-12 overall.
The two teams each tallied two goals a piece in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw Oswego out-shoot Keuka 13-4, the only quarter that
the Lakers had more shots then the Storm. Still Keuka outscored
Oswego 2-1 in the second quarter thanks to the excellent play from its
senior goalie Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson).
Of Oswego's 13 shots, Green saved six while allowing just one to sneak
past him.
Holding a 4-3 lead entering the third quarter, Keuka went off in the
second half, out-scoring Oswego 5-1 in the third and 6-4 in the fourth
(11-5 in the half). Keuka finished with a season-high 65 ground
balls while Oswego picked up 50. The
Storm
ended with 42 shots to Oswego's 35. The Storm also held an edge in
face-offs, winning 16-of-27.
Green finished with 13 saves on the day while allowing just the
eight goals as Oswego's Judd Robinson finished with 10 saves and 12
goals allowed.
Green's high school teammate Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South
Jefferson) also had a huge game finishing with eight points on five
goals and three assists. Junior Jared Furnia (Skaneateles,
N.Y./Cayuga) added three goals and three assists for a total of six
points.
Junior TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga) and Adam Farrell
(Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) each scored two goals a piece while senior
Chris Donohue (Jordan, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) netted one goal while
passing off two assists.
The Storm will play its season finale this Thursday, May 1 at home against
cazenovia College beginning at 7 pm.

Storm Nipped by Nazareth
Green Saves 18 Shots
The Keuka College men's lacrosse team lost a close game to the Nazareth
College Golden Flyers on Tuesday by a score of 13-9. The Storm fall
to 6-5 on the year while Nazareth ends
its
season at 8-6.
Nazareth gained an early advantage by outscoring the Storm 3-0 in the
first quarter. After the two teams traded a goal to begin the second
quarter, Keuka scored three straight to even the game up at four.
The Golden Flyers would tack on two more goals in the final three minutes
of the quarter to hold a 6-4 lead at the break.
Nazareth put the game out of reach by scoring five of the first six goals
in the third quarter. The two teams would each tally two goals a
piece in the fourth. Nazareth out-shot Keuka 57-30 and won six more
face-offs (16-for-26 to 10-for-26).
The Storm were able to stay close all game thanks to stellar play from
senior goalie Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson).
Green finished with 18 saves, nine in each
half. Nazareth's Anthony Desimone finished with nine saves
while allowing nine goals.
Keuka's Chris Donohue (Jordan, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) and Drew
Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./West Hill) each finished with three goals a
piece while senior Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson)
dished off three assists.
Junior Jared Furnia (Skaneateles, N.Y./Cayuga) added a goal and two
assists while classmate Adam Farrell (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier)
tallied both a goal and an assist.
Mark DeCirce and Matt Aloi led the way for Nazareth with
three goals a piece.

Big First Quarter Secures Win
Outscore Elmira 6-2 in Opening Quarter En Route to 10-7 Win
Keuka's men's lacrosse team used a big first quarter to cruise to a 10-7
win over Elmira College on Saturday. Keuka drops the Pioneers to
2-10 on the year while improving to 6-4.
Senior Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) gave the
Storm an early 1-0 lead
with an unassisted goal at the 13:02 mark. Elmira answered not
even three minutes later to even it back up. Keuka then scored five
straight goals in the next seven minutes to go up 6-1. Elmira snuck
in one more goal with four seconds remaining in the first to give the
Storm a 6-2 lead at the break.
Both teams scored twice in the second quarter to keep the Storm up four.
Elmira's man-up goal in the third quarter was the only score of the
quarter. The two teams then traded goals in the fourth quarter a
couple of times but Elmira would never get closer then three goals down.
Keuka out-shot Elmira 31-25 while picking up 37 groundballs to Elmira's
35. The Storm also won the battle of face-offs, winning 13-of-20.
Junior Chris Sullivan (East Northport,
N.Y./Northport)
led the way winning 11-of-16.
The offense was led by Pecori as he finished with three goals and
an assist, giving him 40 points (21 goals and 19 assists) in 10 games.
Junior Jared Furnia (Skaneateles, N.Y./Cayuga) added two goals and
two assists while Chris Donohue (Jordan, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge),
Sullivan, and TJ Radka (Waterloo, N.Y./Cayuga) each tallied a
goal and an assist.
Sean Slater led Elmira with two goals while Mike Szpiech
passed off four assists.
Keuka's Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) ended with
eight saves in goal while picking up his fifth win of the season.
The Storm will next play host to Nazareth College this Tuesday, April 22
at 4 pm.

Storm Drop Close Game to Cardinals
Third Quarter Dooms Storm
Keuka College men's lacrosse lost a close game to the Cardinals of St.
John Fisher College, 6- 3
on the road Tuesday. Keuka led 2-0 after the first quarter but were
outscored 5-0 over the next two quarters. Keuka falls to 5-4 overall
while St. John Fisher improves to 10-3.
Keuka's Jared Furnia (Skaneateles, N.Y./Cayuga) gave the Storm a
1-0 lead when he took a pass from senior Justin Pecori (Watertown,
N.Y./South Jefferson) and buried it past the Cardinals goalie with
8:18 remaining in the first quarter. Senior Chris Donohue
(Jordan, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) put the Storm up by two with just three
seconds left in the first on his eighth goal of the season.
St. John Fisher's Dave Malone single handedly got the Cardinals
back into the game with goals at the 10:51 and 5:51 mark of the second
quarter. With the score tied 2-2 going into the third quarter, it
was Fisher who was able to put the pressure on Keuka and score three third
quarter goals. Both teams would add a goal apiece in the fourth.
Fisher out-shot Keuka 31-23 and dominated the face-offs 10-3.
Keuka's Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) kept the Storm
in the game with his 11 saves. Green stopped six shots in the
first half and five in the second. Fisher's Jon Cortina
stopped 10 Keuka shots to secure the win for Fisher.
Donohue ended with two of the Storm's three goals while Furnia
scored the other one. Pecori and junior Greg Marsh
(Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) each finished with an assist.
Malone ended with three goals and an assist for Fisher while
Jeff Price added two goals and an assist.
The Storm will next take on Elmira College this Saturday, April 19 on the
road at 1 pm.

Storm Offense Erupts; Again
Knock-Off Medaille 15-3
The Keuka College men's lacrosse team enjoyed its second straight big win
as they defeated the Mavericks of Medaille College, 15-3 on Wednesday.
Keuka improves to 5-3 overall with the win while Medaille falls to 2-5.
Keuka blanked the Mavericks in both the first and second quarters while
scoring six goals of its own. After outscoring Medaille 5-1 in the
third, Keuka held a 11-1 lead entering the fourth. The Storm defense
never let up as Medaille was still only able to net two goals in the
fourth while Keuka added four more for the 15-3 win.
The Storm finished with 47 shot attempts to just 18 for Medaille Keuka
also dominated the ground balls 36-28. The Storm also took advantage
of its man-up opportunities scoring on four of its seven chances.
Senior Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) had a huge
game scoring three
times
and assisting on four other goals. Juniors Chris Sullivan (East
Northport, N.Y./Northport) and Greg Marsh (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo)
each added two goals and an assist.
Junior Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./West Hill) added two goals while
defenders Isaac Zehr (Lowville, N.Y./Cayuga) and James Simmons
(Elbridge, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) each scored there first-ever Keuka
goal.
Jeff Zaharias had two of Medaille's three goals.
Senior Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) finished with
seven saves through the first three quarters. Medaill's Ben
Dlugosh recorded 14 saves while playing all 60 minutes in goal.

Storm Dominate Express; Win by 16
Three Players Tally Three Goals
The Keuka College men's lacrosse team took its two-game losing streak's
frustration out on the
Express of Wells
College, defeating them 19-3 on Saturday. Keuka improves to 4-3
while Wells falls to 0-7.
The Storm thoroughly dominated every facet of the game, out-shooting Wells
49-11 and collecting 22 more ground balls (40-18). Four freshmen
scored there first career goals led by Stephen Ferguson (Syracuse,
N.Y./West Hill) who tallied three goals. Classmates Steve
Sullivan (Webster, N.Y./Schroeder) and Josh Uline (Rochester,
N.Y./Brighton) each added two goals a piece while Stephen Major
(Elbridge, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) netted his first goal and
assist of his young career.
Junior Jared Furnia (Skaneateles, N.Y./Cayuga) and rookie John
LaMontagne (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) each found the back of the net
three times while assisting on two others. Freshman Jamie Conway
(East Syracuse, N.Y./ESM) scored once and assisted on two teammates
goals. Juniors Drew Kunda (Syracuse, N.Y./West Hill) and
Adam Farrell (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) each had a goal and an assist.
Rookie goalies
Brett Leonard (Syracuse, N.Y./West Hill) and Jon Curry (Hamburg,
N.Y./Frontier) each played a half in goal for Keuka with Leonard
making two saves and Curry stopping four. Wells used two
goalies that combined for 19 saves.
Keuka will next play host Medaille College this Wednesday, April 9 at 4
pm. The game was originally scheduled for away but switched to a
home game.

Storm Drop Second Straight
Lose to Brockport State 11-6
The Brockport State Golden Eagles used a 7-0 third quarter to secure an
11-6 win over the Keuka College Storm on Wednesday at RIT. The Storm
fall to 3-3 while the Golden Eagles improve to 5-1.
With both teams scoring twice in the first quarter, Keuka blanked
Brockport 3-0 in the second
quarter to hold a 5-2 lead at halftime. Brockport completely
dominated the third quarter, outscoring the Storm 7-0 to pull ahead 9-5.
Brockport added two more goals in the fourth to Keuka's one to hold on for
a 11-6 win.
The Golden Eagles shot 36 times to Keuka's 25 while collecting 11 more
loose balls (37-26). Keuka's Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South
Jefferson) stopped 10 of Brockport's shots while Garret Allwes
collected 11 saves for the Golden Eagles.
Leading the Storm's offense was junior attackman Drew Kunda (Syracuse,
N.Y./West Hill). Kunda finished with three goals, giving
him seven in six games. Classmate Jared Furnia (Skaneateles,
N.Y./Cayuga CC) added a goal and two assists while senior Justin
Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) passed out three assists.
Pecori now has 12 assists in six games.
Senior Chris Donohue (Jordan, N.Y./Jordan Elbridge) and junior
Adam Farrell (Hamburg, N.Y./Frontier) each netted a goal.
Joe Gomez led Brockport with a game-high four goals.
Keuka will next play at Wells College this Saturday, April 5 at 2 pm.

Bears Double Up Storm
Fall to Potsdam 10-5
The Keuka men's lacrosse team were done in by a slow start as they fell to
the Bears of Potsdam State, 10-5, at Hobart's McCooey Field on Saturday.
Keuka falls to 3-2 on the year while Potsdam improves to 3-2.
The Storm were out shot 11-3 in the opening quarter and as a result found
themselves down 3-0 after 15 minutes of play. Despite out-shooting
the Bears 9-4 in the second quarter, Potsdam still outscored Keuka 3-1 to
hold a 6-1 advantage after two quarters. Keuka was again only
able
to net one goal in the third quarter before pouring in three goals in the
fourth. Potsdam netted two goals in both the third and fourth
quarters to finish with the 10-5 win.
Potsdam's goalie, Billy Richards, had a huge game for the Bears,
finishing with 17 saves and allowing only the five goals.
Richards was especially tough late in the game, collecting 13 of his
17 saves in the second half.
Both teams were unable to take advantage of man-up situations with Keuka
going 0-for-9 and Potsdam 0-for-5. The Storm took 12 more shots then
Potsdam (37-25).
Senior Justin Pecori (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) scored his
14th and 15th goals of the year while assisting on another. Juniors
Greg Marsh (Waterloo, N.Y./Waterloo) and Chris Sullivan (East
Northport, N.Y./Northport) each tallied one goal a piece while
freshman John LaMontagne (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) added his fifth
goal of the year.
Senior Chad Green (Watertown, N.Y./South Jefferson) ended with 11
saves while allowing the 10 goals.
Keuka will next play at Brockport State this Wednesday, April 2 beginning
at 4 pm.
