About Creative Arts at Keuka College

There’s more to being successful than just raw skill—you need to be able to think creatively, perform, and bring ideas and concepts to life. By minoring in creative arts, you’ll learn to incorporate music, theater, and dance into everyday life and every profession.

The minor gives you the chance to blend the performing arts—music, theatre, and dance—with other avenues of creativity, such as art and creative writing, for your own personal and professional development and exploration.

Program Overview

Creative arts is a personalized journey that incorporates music, dance, theatre, and writing to enhance your creativity. Build on a foundation in aesthetic theory along with practice and improvisation, adding courses in acting, vocal performance, dance, and a variety of fine arts to develop skills that benefit a number of career paths and engage your artistic ambitions.

This unique minor allows you to combine performing arts courses with an emphasis on integrating a creative approach to your chosen major.

Global Education

Theatre, dance, music, visual art all have one major aspect in common—they have the unique ability to transcend language and culture. The creative arts minor allows you explore the origins and application of artistic traditions that exist around the globe. In a multicultural world, creativity engages us — art connects us.

Facilities

From the Red Barn Theatre to Norton Chapel, you’ll have the opportunity to learn and perform in some of the College’s most historic and unique buildings. The new Wolf Den Caféin Keuka Commons, the Kunayin Meditation Garden, and Point Neamo—the College’s private waterfront—are fantastic creative escapes from the hustle and bustle of life as a college student. There’s no better place to find creative inspiration than Keuka College.
