Update on Spring Athletics and Student Support

Update on Spring Athletics and Student Support

Dear Keuka College Community,

I wanted to write to let you know that a few minutes ago, the NCAA has canceled the remaining winter and spring championships. The presidents of NEAC colleges and universities are in the process of voting to cancel all athletic activity and championships for the remainder of the academic year, effective immediately. The Empire 8 presidents will vote later on this evening as well.

This means the Keuka College Athletics program is canceled for the rest of the year, regardless of when we return to campus for face-to-face instruction.

For those student-athletes who have already departed for Spring Break trips, your Coach will have more information on what this means and what your return to campus will look like.

As we continue to examine the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester, our faculty and staff are working tirelessly to migrate courses online, help students and their families depart for Spring Break and the subsequent weeks, and make sure we have the right support structures in place to help students migrate to an online learning environment beginning March 30.

We know that the idea of attending classes online is intimidating to so many of you. We have your backs. Although we don’t have answers to all of your questions now, we will in the coming days. We have an amazing team at Keuka College, and they’re all doing the very best they can.

I know that there are many, many questions. Please do not hesitate to call our College Information Center at (315) 279-5034, email [email protected], or continue to visit this online Coronavirus Resource Center.

Our team is working as quickly as possible to answer any and all questions you may have.
