Keuka College Baseball’s Dakota Skinner (Waverly, N.Y.) has displayed excellence on the playing field and in the classroom. His hard work has been rewarded with Dakota being named First Team Division III Academic All-District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) for the third straight year.
The honor is a part of CoSIDA's Google Cloud Academic All-America program. District 3 consists of all the Division III schools in New York state. Dakota will now continue onto the national ballot to be named Academic All-America.
Dakota ended the season with a .359 batting average. He was named Second Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference, ranking ninth in the league in hits. For his career, he has moved into fourth place in school history with 126 career hits. One of his most dramatic this season was a walk-off single against Lancaster Bible College in the first round of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
Dakota was named Academic All-District for the third straight season. Last season, he moved on to be named Third Team Academic All-American by CoSIDA. The senior has posted a 3.92 GPA while majoring in Management with a concentration in Sports Management while at Keuka College.
Dakota and the rest of the Keuka College Baseball team completed their season on Saturday, falling in an elimination game in the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament to Penn St.-Abington by the score of 9-7. Keuka College finished the 2018 season with a 19-17 record, posting the second-most wins in program history.
