Keuka College Softball junior Jessie Hammers (Wayland) has added to her standout third year on the softball diamond by excelling in the classroom as well.
Jessie was named First Team Division III Academic All-District 3 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) last week.
The honor is a part of CoSIDA’s Google Cloud Academic All-America program. District 3 consists of all Division III schools in New York state. Hammers will now continue on to the national ballot to be named Academic All-America.
Jessie, the 2019 North Eastern Softball Player of the Year, had another outstanding season for the Wolves. She totaled 55 hits, breaking her own freshman-year record school record of 52. She also ranked top five in program history with a .466 batting average and 25 stolen bases this season. Her 15 runs batted in set a new career-best as well.
In the classroom, Jessie has posted a 3.69 grade point average over her three years at Keuka College while majoring in Occupational Science. She was named a NEAC Scholar-Athlete and National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-America Scholar-Athlete every season as well.
