Two members of the Keuka College Women’s Golf team were recognized for their academic achievements by the Empire 8 Conference when it recently announced its President’s List of student-athletes for the Fall 2018 semester.
Senior Holly Reynolds (Ovid) attained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the fall. She’s majoring in Management with a focus on Sports Management. McKayla Nolan (Webster), also a senior, posted a 3.78 GPA. She’s a Psychology major.
Recipients of the President's List honor must earn a 3.75 grade-point average or higher while participating in a conference-sponsored sport. In addition, the student-athlete must display positive conduct on and off campus. Keuka College joined the Empire 8 Conference as an associate member in the fall of 2017 for women’s golf.
Holly was the top golfer for the Wolves this past fall. She posted an 85.33 scoring average, finishing in the top 10 in three of the four events she played. Her best round came on Keuka’s home course, Lakeside Country Club, as she shot a 79, tying her career-low and guiding Keuka to a team victory in their home fall invitational. Her fall season concluded by tying for third at the Empire 8 Women’s Golf Championship to earn First Team All-Empire 8 honors.
McKayla averaged 107.43 for the fall, the best average of her four-year career at Keuka. She posted a new career-best, shooting a 93 at the Keuka College Fall Invitational for the fourth top-five finish of her career. She was one of two golfers for Keuka to compete in all seven rounds played over the fall season.
As a team, Keuka College placed ninth out of 11 teams at the Empire 8 Women’s Golf Championship this past October.
The Green and Gold will return to the course this April for the spring portion of the schedule.
