Three Earn Outstanding Adult Student Awards

This is about a 1 minute read.

Three Keuka College students earned Outstanding Adult Student awards during the 32nd annual awards ceremony of the Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education (RACCE) network held last month.

The Outstanding Adult Student award recognizes adult students who have excelled academically while successfully combining their college education with other commitments to family, career, and the community.

The three Keuka College recipients are Himrod resident Karen Thompson, an educational studies major, Medina resident and criminal justice major Debra Fuller, and Geneva resident Angela Bennett, who is pursuing a degree in nursing. They were among 35 students from 13 Rochester-area colleges to be recognized.

The award is given to candidates who exemplify a strong commitment to higher education despite the unique challenges adult learners may face. Eligibility for the awards requires not only academic excellence, but also a demonstrated ability by the candidates to balance personal and professional responsibilities while working toward completing their degree.

The RACCE consortium of area colleges promotes and advocates for continuing education to adult and other non-traditional students in the greater Rochester area. RACCE’s extensive network of college administrators provide information about educational programs to students and fosters collaboration and professional development opportunities among its membership.
