Annmarie Flanagan has been in the nursing profession for over 30 years. She attended the Keuka College traditional program when it was an all-women’s college back in the 1980’s. She has been excited to return to her alma mater and continue the tradition of educating exceptional students to be leaders in the health care arena. Her return in March of 2010 started a path of continued learning along with her students. She received a Post Masters Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013 and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree in 2016, both from St. John Fisher College. Her master’s thesis was a study of simulation in nursing education. The use of high-fidelity simulation vs. paper and pencil case study. Her doctoral work focused on the research and implementation of plans to address rural substance abuse, titled Communities of Solution. Her work continues directly and indirectly on the issues of substance abuse. She firmly believes the focus needs to be on primary prevention to avoid possibly transitioning from substances of low abuse to those of higher abuse potential. Dr. Flanagan’s passion for all things nursing and loves to see that "ah ha" moment for students in pursuit of their academic goals.
Annmarie maintains a clinical practice with Finger Lakes Health as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
