Dr. Sunny Winstead has been an occupational therapist for over 20 years, with experience in various areas of adult practice, management, and program consultation. Her clinical experience includes hospital-based rehabilitation, home health care, vocational services and supported employment, community-based mental health, ergonomics, and a taste of outpatient orthopedic practice. She has served as a clinical coordinator and program development consultant, and she currently co-owns a private practice providing contract occupational and physical therapy services.
Before coming to Keuka College in 2013, Dr. Winstead was an adjunct instructor and clinical instructor at Ithaca College. She received a BA in English Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University in 1993, and a MS in Occupational Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University/ Medical College of Virginia in 1996. She completed her doctorate (EdD) in Educational Leadership at the University of New England in 2017, where her dissertation research focused on competency development in community-based occupational therapy.
