Dr. Vicki Smith received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis Missouri, a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Gannon University, and her doctorate degree in Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She has published two books through the American Occupational Therapy Association, which focused on bridging the gap between classroom and clinical education for occupational therapists.

Dr. Smith has completed numerous national presentations in topics ranging from distance education teaching techniques to issues relating to classroom to clinical education. She was an ambassador representing the American Occupational Therapy Association during a delegation trip to China in 2004 where she presented on the topic of “An Overview of the Treatment Techniques for the Hemi-plegic Upper Extremity.”  Dr. Smith has volunteered as a national reviewer for the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education for nine years. She received an honorary distinction from the American Occupational Therapy Association for her expertise of Clinical and Academic Leadership through Business Management in 2013.

Occupational Science relating to the question of why and how do individuals choose their occupations, researching evidence based higher education teaching methods, and higher education administration and management effectiveness.
