Renee Senn worked in the beauty industry for 17 years and has always been interested in entrepreneurial leadership roles. She decided in 2015 to pursue a business degree in Organizational Management at Keuka College. The lure?

“I saw so many new opportunities both educationally and financially in the future,” she says.

As a busy working professional, she appreciated that the accelerated program offered the time to attend school while working full time. She admits there was fear of going back to school as an adult, but it quickly subsided.

“It took about a month to adjust my schedule to the workload of being a full-time student,” Renee remembers.

She became her cohort representative — once again taking a leadership role. Her courses taught her time management, business, collaboration, communication processes, sustainability, finance, accounting, and more.

Renee is now a successful salon owner of five years.

“I am where I am today because of the education and drive I developed from studying with Keuka College,” she says. “Today the sky's the limit.”

Her advice to those considering Keuka College’s adult programs?

“To anyone who is considering taking the leap: Do it with both feet. I can promise you’ll never look back,” Renee says. “The great part about education is, no one can ever take it away from you. The value is yours forever.”
