Keuka College has launched a business partnership with St. James Hospital, an affiliate of the University of Rochester Medical Center in Hornell, N.Y.
The hospital’s employees will now qualify for discounted tuition in Keuka College’s online and hybrid degree programs. Among these programs are the streamlined RN to BS, which enables licensed nurses to fulfill New York state’s educational requirements while staying on the job, and the MS in Leadership with an optional Healthcare track.
“This partnership is more than a collaboration,” said Wendy Disbrow, president and CEO of St. James Hospital. “It’s an investment in the community’s health and our hospital’s future. By nurturing local talent, we strengthen our ability to provide exceptional care and opportunities right here at home.”
The alliance will also open doors for Keuka College students to gain hands-on experience through Field Period® internships and clinical placements at St. James’s nearby state-of-the-art medical campus.
Keuka College Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing, Technology, and Hospitality Pete Bekisz ’12 said the partnership will strengthen both institutions’ long legacies of service.
“Keuka College and St. James Hospital were founded in the same year – 1890 – with a commitment to enhancing quality of life and quality of care in our Finger Lakes and Southern Tier communities. By joining forces, we’re creating shared pathways for healthcare professionals to get a great education and find great careers right here in the region.”
