Ruby Nguyen '12 has returned to her undergraduate alma mater as the Partnership Director for Keuka College's international programs at the University of Economics and Finance (UEF) in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam National University International School (VNU-IS) in Hanoi.
Keuka College has been a regional leader in global learning since it launched its first overseas degree program in 2002. Currently, more than 500 students are pursuing Keuka College bachelor's degrees in business management at UEF and VNU-IS.
In her new role, Nguyen is focused on growing both universities’ management programs while launching a new marketing degree at UEF.
“I want all these programs to be recognized as premier pathways for Vietnamese students who want an American education with a strong emphasis on experiential learning and career readiness,” she said.
Nguyen began her studies in management with a concentration in international business through the College’s partnership with VNU-IS before transferring to the Keuka Park campus as a junior.
“I arrived shy and reserved, but the small classes meant I couldn’t just fade into the background. My professors encouraged me to trust my own voice.”
That support inspired Nguyen to serve as a mentor to incoming students and to start a campus club dedicated to helping peers develop leadership skills. She also dove headfirst into the Field Period® program, spending one summer interning at a fashion label in New York City.
“Those opportunities were formative,” she said. “They also confirmed something important for me: My true passion was in developing people, not products.”
Since then, Nguyen has held leadership positions at several of Vietnam’s leading educational institutions, with a continued focus on fostering international collaboration.
“We’re thrilled to have Ruby Nguyen leading our international partnerships. No one knows all our campuses like she does, and she’ll be key in building academic communities that reflect Keuka College’s identity while evolving with Vietnam’s dynamic business landscape.”
Nguyen called her return to the College “a full-circle moment.”
“It’s all about helping more students access the same transformational education that shaped who I am today,” she said.
READY TO LEAD.
