The Jeanne Clery Act mandates institutions issue a timely warning for all Clery Act crimes that occur on or adjacent to College-owned or controlled property that are reported to campus security authorities or local police agencies. The following message is being sent to provide timely and accurate information to our students, staff, and faculty.

Incident Summary

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, a campus security authority received a report of a rape that occurred early in the morning of Friday, May 10, 2024. The victim reported the incident took place in a residence hall by two suspects after consuming a drink that contained drugs at a bar in Penn Yan. The suspects were known to the victim.

It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the College community. It is the duty of the administration to warn of possible 'dangerous conditions' on or near the campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an 'affirmative duty' exists to warn persons associated with the College of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
