Accreditation and Certifications
The Teacher Education Program at Keuka College is awarded TEAC accreditation by the Inquiry Brief Commission of Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for a period of seven years, from 2013-2020. The accreditation does not include individual education courses offered to P-12 educators for professional development, relicensure, or other purposes.
The College does not award teacher certification, the New York State Education Department is the only entity that does that.
At the successful completion of all requirements for the major and degree, the college recommends the candidate for certification. The candidate is responsible for fulfilling all certification requirements, which include: major requirements, fingerprinting, certification exams and application for certification.
In cases where the candidate is non-matriculated, or is seeking an additional certification, the candidate is responsible for applying for that certification through a state-recognized certification office.
