Visual Communication Design

Design Communication Solutions for Tomorrow's World

You’re in love with creating visual content, and you want to turn that passion into a career. With Keuka College’s Visual Communication Design program, you’ll discover a creative process combining the visual arts and technology to communicate ideas. You’ll gain the skills to create strategic visual and written elements to express a specific message or tell a specific story to an audience.

With classes in areas such as digital photography, graphic design, and writing for social media, you will design projects that mimic real-world scenarios, allowing you to develop comprehensive and diverse portfolios in preparation for creative careers.

Program Highlights

An Internship Every Year

Every year, beginning in your first year, you’ll design a Field Period® experience that could see you working in a newspaper or television station, collaborating alongside event planners, discovering the relationship between public relations and marketing, or finding out what a copywriter does. The choice is all yours!

Endless Networking Opportunities

Our students have taught city managers to use Twitter, helped organize TEDx events, and worked for nonprofit organizations, news stations, and museums, among many other organizations. With every interaction, you’ll learn how to help audiences understand information, through both written and visual communication, which increases the comprehension of the subject matter.

A Multidimensional Faculty

With years of experience writing for print and the web, perfecting public speaking and interviewing techniques, and crafting messages that resonate, our faculty have the academic and professional experience to take you to new heights. They represent the diverse ways of working within this field, bringing a breadth and depth of experience and knowledge, along with real-world experience.

My Field Period® with Nickelodeon, to create a trailer for a new episode of SpongeBob SquarePants, confirmed for me that, yes, this is what I love to do. I wasn’t going to miss this opportunity to be part of the program. It had everything I wanted and was related to my major. And having this under my belt and on my resume will lead to more opportunities.
