Explore your Dreams, Enhance Your Résumé
The practice and study of creative writing in many forms—including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and drama—provides you with an opportunity to refine your unique voice and creativity. Explore mediums for creative expression that will expand your writing horizons. If writing is an important part of your career—or your life—this is the minor for you.
Minor Overview
The Creative Writing minor will give you the opportunity to participate in an intimate classroom setting with other like-minded writers as you study the power and importance of storytelling in its many forms. The constructive criticism you'll receive from your peers and professors will be invaluable to your growth as a writer, and you’ll learn how to give helpful advice, as well.
You can’t write without being a voracious reader, so in addition to the work presented by your classmates, you’ll be reading poetry and short stories from the masters to help fuel your own creativity. You'll also have the opportunity to meet and hear writers who visit the campus to give readings of their own work.
