Health & Counseling Center

Required health forms are available in the Student Health Portal. In your portal, visit the section titled 'My Forms' to review all required and optional forms. 

Students are required to complete the immunization form that is marked as a requirement in the Student Health Portal. New York State requires two MMR vaccinations and one Meningococcal ACWY vaccination (within the last 10 years)

If you are an athlete, you may have additional forms available and marked as required for you to complete in your Student Health Portal. 

If you are an international student, you will have one additional blood test for tuberculosis that is required. 

If you are a commuter student, registered for 6 or more credits during the semester, you will need to show verification of two MMR vaccinations. You are also required to have one Meningococcal ACWY vaccination (within the last 10 years), or two Meningitis B vaccinations. You may waive the meningococcal vaccination by acknowledging the risks and possible health implications of contracting meningitis, and signing the form in the Student Health Portal.

If you are a student only registered for online courses during the semester, there are no immunization requirements.

All students will need to submit health insurance information in their Student Health Portal.

The Counseling Center has two Mental Health Counselors and a Masters in Social Work intern.

Keuka College Student COVID-19 Policy 2023-24

Although staff can help advocate for students they see, they do not complete official paperwork in order to change/excuse student responsibilities to Keuka College. In the event a student needs help in these areas, they will be referred to the Office of Student Accessibility. The OSA staff can send a note with the student stating that they were seen in the Health and Counseling Center, with the date and time, however no other information can be provided.  

No, these are two different files that are kept in separately. Health staff can only access your mental health records after obtaining a release of information from you.

Short-term, brief supportive individual counseling. 

Student appointments are determined by the availability of the nurse practitioner for health-related appointments, the availability of the counselor for counseling appointments, the student's schedule and the severity of presenting concern

Appointments are usually available in the Health Center the day you call/stop in or the next business day. Counseling appointments are available the day you call/stop in if it is an emergency or crisis situation. Otherwise, you will be assigned a counseling time slot that fits your schedule usually within the next seven business days. Students are also provided resources off campus if they wish to set up a counseling appointment with an outside provider. Health appointments are usually the same day or the next business day. 

The Director of Community Standards and Student Intervention may require a counseling evaluation in very rare instances. Most of the time, counseling is voluntary and is always FREE of charge.

Students are seen for a limited number of sessions during the semester. Students are provided alternative counseling solutions if ongoing care is needed.

Absolutely, your information cannot be shared with anyone without written consent (any limits to confidentiality are reviewed with you during your first appointment).

Yes. A counselor can meet with you to help find a therapist/professional off-campus or in your area. The Nurse Practitioner may refer you to a specialist depending on your diagnosis. You may also be referred for radiology or specific labs that cannot be run in the Health Center.
